The Fashion Fusion Challenge is an ideas competition sponsored by Deutsche Telekom, in which our goal is to
encourage creative minds from fashion and technology to collaborate, take on and tear down the fashion status quo
with groundbreaking concepts.
With our coaches, who are renowned specialists from the nexus of cutting-edge fashion and technology, we empower finalists to develop quality prototypes of their concepts in the Fashion Fusion Lab in Berlin, before presenting them at an exclusive awards show during the Berlin Fashion Week. A jury of top-class industry representatives then selects the winners.
The grand-prize winner receives a cash prize and the opportunity to develop their concept to marketability in collaboration with us and our partners. The second- and third-place finishers will also receive prize money.
What we're looking for:
1. Connected devices and accessories
Concepts that use smart technologies to generate new added values and possibilities for people, for example, for the following topic areas: connected devices, accessories, jewellery, wearables.
2. Digitally enhanced fashion
Development of fashion concepts that generate innovative added value through smart technologies and materials, for example, sports and health gear, casual and street fashion, haute couture. Strong focus on sustainability.
3. Smart services
Concepts that change the use, selection, production, sale and personalisation of fashion and styling, for example, augmented reality solutions, apps, service concepts or technology solutions.
The challenge is open to students of European fashion, design and technology universities and colleges, trainees and junior professionals, as well as freelancers and start-ups applying individually or as teams.
Submissions will be evaluated by our jury in a two-stage process, at the conclusion of which jurors will draw up a shortlist. The best submissions will be invited to the Fashion Fusion Lab in Berlin and be part of the subsequent awards show.

Fashion Fusion kick-off event
Fashion Fusion Lab in Berlin: The final concepts are developed by the individuals/teams with the assistance of the coaches and partners until they are ready to present to the public.
Awards show involving the ten developed final concepts at the Berlin Fashion Week as part of Fashiontech Berlin. Overall winners selected and awarded by the jury.
Our jury of upper-echelon representatives from the fields of fashion and technology defines the themes and the selection criteria for the Fashion Fusion Challenge. They evaluate applications and select up to ten of the most promising ideas and concepts to take part in the Fashion Fusion Lab. From that group of ten, the jury will then select the winners at the awards show.

Our coaches comprised of fashion and technology professionals will be on hand at the Fashion Fusion Lab in Berlin with expert knowledge and inspiration for all finalists. In this creative environment, they will help foster and cultivate the very best ideas and concepts, before giving finalists pointers on presenting them perfectly.
Our coaches are divided into hands-on coaches, who provide lab support on a regular basis, and thought leaders, who inspire, motivate and provide fresh impulses during one-time events.
Some coaches have already been selected. Further coaches will be announced shortly according to the teams requirements.

We will provide all Fashion Fusion finalists with a large audience of Telekom representatives and its partners for their ideas and concepts. Furthermore, Fashion Fusion finalists will have access to our partner network of renowned names in fashion and technology together with the expertise and necessary resources to develop their ideas and concepts into products and services that are potentially ready for market. Moreover, Fashion Fusion fosters the creation of synergies as finalists come together in the Fashion Fusion Lab, get to know and learn from each other, network and, above all, enjoy themselves.
At the conclusion of the workshop, each of the finalists will be able to showcase their concepts at an awards show in Berlin. Travel to the event, board and lodging will be provided, as will accommodation during the challenge.
At the awards show, the jury will award three prizes. The winning team will receive a €20,000 cash prize. The second- and third-place finishers will receive €10,000 and €5,000 respectively.
Moreover, the winners will have access to the Fashion Fusion Network including hub:raum, partners as well as tech and fashion professionals, and they might also have the opportunity to develop their concept until it is ready for market.
